Exhibitions and Opportunities for Saatchi Online artists and Saatchi Online Art Students:
4 NEW SENSATIONS 4 New Sensations was launched in 2007 by Channel 4 and The Saatchi Gallery to find the most imaginative and talented artists graduating in the UK and to support students leaving art college. In 2007 and 2008 shortlisted students have sold their work and been offered exhibitions as a result of the competition.
This year, Channel 4 and the Saatchi Gallery teamed up once again and shortlisted 20 artists to take in 4 New Sensations competition open all UK art students graduating from BA and MA courses at UK colleges and universities in 2009. Four finalists were given a bursary to make a new work to present at the exhibition, and each of these 'New Sensations' has had a 3 Minute Wonder Channel 4 film made about them which were aired on Channel 4 from 5-8 October. An exhibition of the 20 shortlisted graduates is at the A Foundation at the Rochelle School in Shoreditch from 9-19 October 2009.
This year's judges were: artist Gavin Turk; Ralph Rugoff, director of the Hayward Gallery, London; critic Louisa Buck; and Alison Jacques, owner of Alison Jacques Gallery in London.
SAATCHI ONLINE ARTISTS EXHIBITED AT SCOPE LONDON
As part of our continuing efforts to promote Saatchi Online artists, Saatchi Online presented a selection of UK-based artists registered on the site at the SCOPE art fair in London in October 2008. This follows our success promoting and selling the work of Saatchi Online artists at the Zoo Art Fair in London in October 2007, at FORM London in February 2008, at PULSE New York in March 2008, and at SCOPE Basel 2008 in June 2008.
The Saatchi Online artists invited to exhibit their work at SCOPE London were all UK-based and were chosen from our weekly Saatchi Online Magazine Critic's Choice and Top 10s. We promoted and sold their work at the fair on a non-commission basis; all money from sales went directly to the artists.
The following artists exhibited at Scope London from October 16th - 19th 2008: GL Brierley, Petros Chrisostomou, Toby Christian, Pio Abad, Mark Harris, Rebecca Ayre, Michael Atkinson, Damien Flood, Aaron Schuman, Poppy Jones and Gabriele Beveridge.
SAATCHI ONLINE ARTISTS EXHIBITION AT CONCRETE AND GLASS, LONDON
Saatchi Online artists exhibited at the Concrete and Glass festival in Shoreditch in October 2008 in an exhibition curated by Flora Fairburn. 20 London-based artists were selected from Saatchi Online Magazine's weekly Critics Choice to take part in the event. To find out more please click here
SAATCHI ONLINE ART PRIZE FOR SCHOOLS
The Saatchi Online Art Prize For Schools is open to all Primary and Secondary schools around the world. A panel of art critics will choose their favourite works each year. A first prize of ?10,000 will be awarded to the winning school's art department. A further ?2000 will be given to the winning pupil to be spent on computer and art equipment. There will be two runner-up prizes of ?5000 each awarded to the second and third place schools with a further ?1000 to each of the winning pupils.

CHANNEL 4's BIG 4 COMPETITION
Congratulations to Stephanie Imbeau who won the Channel 4's BIG 4 public art competition. Her design was installed outside the Channel 4 headquarters in August 2008. To find out more click here.
The competition was launched To celebrate both Channel 4's 25th anniversary and the opening of the Big Art Project Channel 4. A panel of arts experts launched this competition for Saatchi Online and Saatchi Online Art Students who graduated from a UK art school or university in 2006 or 2007, to design a sculpture incorporating the huge Channel 4 logo installed outside their headquarters in London. HARPER COLLINS BOOK COVER DESIGN COMPETITION
Congratulations to Becca Thorne who won the Harper Collins competition. Her winning design is on the cover of the hardback edition of The Last Days of the Lacuna Cabal by Sean Dixon published on 1 July 2008.

SONY WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY PRIZE
Congratulations to Saatchi Online photographer Arup Ghosh who was the overall winner of the amateur 2008 Sony World Photography Prize.

Congratulations to Oliver Beer who is the winner of this year's New Sensations prize. Oliver Beer graduated from the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford, and his work was chosen by judges Gavin Turk, artist; Ralph Rugoff, director of the Hayward Gallery, London; critic Louisa Buck; and Alison Jacques, owner of Alison Jacques Gallery in London. Tori Murphy sold two works to a private collector. Victoria McGeoch sold her work to a private collector.
Gemma Nelson sold her work to a private collector and was asked to show one of her paintings from the 4 New Sensations exhibition in a forthcoming show at a gallery in Devon.
Eleanor Lindsay-Fynn was invited to show her work at the Salon gallery in London.
Toby Christian was nominated for ArtFutures 2008 and showed his work in this exhibition in London this March.
Stewart Clelland was invited to be in the crtl_alt _del sound festival in Istanbul and will also have an exhibition in the Royal Scottish Academy in March in Edinburgh.

SAATCHI ONLINE AT ZOO ART FAIR 2007
This was the first time that we had shown the work of Saatchi Online at an art fair. Twenty artists chosen from the weekly Critic's Picks on Saatchi Online's daily magazine were invited to exhibit their work at the art fair in London. The work represented the range of work registered on Saatchi Online and we had very positive feedback about the concept of Saatchi Online and the standard of the work in the Saatchi Online exhibition. All the work at the exhibition was for sale on a non-commission basis.
Works by the following artists were sold at the exhibition: John Burke, Robin Cracknell, Robert Szot, Ursula Sokolowska, Oliver Clegg, Caron Geary, Caterina Lira Pereira, Cecelia Post and Nicole Morris.
Edgar Martins was offered representation by the Paul Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles.
Caron Geary was offered a solo show at a gallery in Spain.
Monika Bielskyte was invited to have a solo show at FOAM, the photography museum in Amsterdam this year.

SAATCHI ONLINE AT FORM ART FAIR 2008
Congratulations to all the Saatchi Online artists whose work was exhibited at the Saatchi Online stand at FORM 2008 which took place at Olympia in London (28 February - 2 March 2008).
15 works were sold in total by Saatchi Online artists Maurizio Anzeri, Carla Busuttil, Alex Crocker, Poppy Jones, Mie Olise Kjaergaard, Sarah Douglas and Whitney McVeigh. The work of these artists was sold free of any commission with the prices ranging from £400 to £3000.
SAATCHI ONLINE AT PULSE ART FAIR 2008
Congratulations to all the artists chosen to exhibit their work on the Saatchi Online stand at Pulse Art Fair in New York.
In total 31 works were sold with 9 out of the 15 artists whose work was exhibited selling work. Saatchi Online takes no commission from either artist or buyer. The artists who sold work at the fair are: Juliana Beasley, Sarah Bereza, Hannah Bureau, Dana Lauren Goldstien, Koya Abe, Sara Rahbar, Jennifer Sanchez, Alix Smith and Viktor Timofeev. Artists also exhibiting were Elena Bajo, Julian Beasley, Derek Buckner, Kenichi Hoshine, Shay Kun, Amy Stein, Haeri Yoo.
SAATCHI ONLINE AT SCOPE BASEL 2008
A selection of European artists registered on the site exhibited at this year's SCOPE art fair in Basel.
The Saatchi Online stand was a success - 25 works were sold at the fair on a non-commission basis and interest from collectors, gallerists, dealers and other people visiting the stand.
